THOR Group is delighted to announce that our THOR Mexico site was recently awarded the Best Practices in Comprehensive Accountability Award for Air Pollution Prevention, at the 66th Ordinary General Assembly of the National Chemical Industry Association (ANIQ).
The ANIQ event, which took place on 29 April in Mexico City, aims to prevent and mitigate the effects of climate change on the natural and social environment, as well as resource scarcity, waste generation, and various other global factors.
At THOR, we constantly striving to harmonise the needs of our customers with those of the planet. The THOR Mexico site, based in Querétaro, Mexico, was recognised for the award due to its efforts contributing to carbon footprint offsetting – donating to rainforest regeneration of the Reserva de la Biosfera Sierra Gorda area; investing in a hybrid vehicle fleet and phasing out traditional gasoline-fuelled transportation; and optimising on-site practices like forklifts to ensure best practice and limit waste.
The Best Practices in Comprehensive Accountability Awards Ceremony has the objective of recognising the creation and implementation of organisational projects that focus on efforts to promote and implement the Comprehensive Responsibility Management System (SARI) due to the growing concern for sustainable development and environmental and socioeconomic issues.
We’re delighted that THOR Mexico was recognised for the positive work undertaken.
