THOR GmbH Donates 100 Trees through Green Forest Fund

In a world where climate change is an increasingly urgent challenge, our colleagues at THOR GmbH are demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and responsibility through the donation of 100 trees via the Green Forest Fund. This initiative is an important step towards a better and more liveable planet for future generations.

A contribution with a long-term impact

THOR GmbH's tree donation is far more than a symbolic gesture; it represents a serious commitment to environmental, climate, and species protection in Germany, as well as the Paris Climate Agreement. On average, each person in Germany emits around 12 tons of CO₂ annually. Given that our forests can only absorb about 12% of this CO₂, additional measures are clearly needed to promote natural carbon sinks.

A single tree has the potential to sequester around 3 tons of CO₂ over 100 years. This underscores the importance of reforestation projects and environmentally friendly initiatives. THOR GmbH, in cooperation with the Green Forest Fund, ensured that the donated trees will be planted on specially acquired land in Germany. There, they can grow undisturbed and develop into new, biodiverse forest ecosystems, the “primeval forests of tomorrow”. These forests will not only store CO₂ but also provide habitats for numerous animal and plant species threatened by progressive urbanisation and the destruction of natural habitats.
