Inspiring youth in Brazil through CEPAC Barueri

Publish Date: 17/11/2025

At THOR, we recognise the importance of building strong connections with the local communities surrounding our global operations. Between July 2023 and December 2024, THOR Brazil partnered with CEPAC Barueri, a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and adolescents. CEPAC Barueri helps those in need by fostering autonomy, strengthening family ties, and providing assistance with professional qualifications.

Last week, our colleagues in Brazil were delighted to welcome a group of teenagers from CEPAC Barueri to both our administrative office in Xingu and our manufacturing plant, warehouse, and laboratories in Caiapós. During their visit, the students had the opportunity to explore the wide range of working environments that THOR offers.

At our newly opened office in Xingu, Ridnei Brenna, THOR Brazil Managing Director, introduced the visitors to life at THOR, sharing our Values and Purpose. Colleagues Henrique Tanaca and Camila Souza, herself a former beneficiary of CEPAC Barueri, then provided further insights into THOR’s day-to-day operations and the many career pathways available within the chemical industry.

“I am honoured to have hosted today’s guests,” said Ridnei. “It was a privilege to present these teenagers with a positive perspective of the working world, and the future choices and career paths available to them. We truly hope that something they’ve experienced today will spark inspiration for their future.”

Proactively addressing our social obligations is an important part of our sustainability strategy. We are committed to being a good corporate citizen and playing a positive role in society. We also aim to have a positive impact by engaging with and investing in the local communities we’re part of. From sponsoring local football teams to supporting nursing homes, schools and apprenticeship programmes, we’re committed to making a difference.

As a global business with operations in more than 18 countries, responsibility for identifying and promoting impactful community initiatives rests with our Managing Directors in each region. This decentralised approach ensures we maximise local impact while collectively driving positive change on a global scale.
