Last month, our colleagues in São Paulo, Brazil, celebrated the expansion of THOR Brazil’s operations, with the grand opening of a new office space.
Located on the 27th floor of the Evolution Building in Barueri City in the north-western region of Sao Paulo, the new 600m2 premises sees the relocation of approximately 21 administrative, sales, supply chain, quality, and customer service staff who previously shared space with the manufacturing side of the business at the existing site in nearby Tamboré.
Dave Siroky, THOR Group’s COO of Americas, was in attendance for the official office opening, alongside THOR Brazil Managing Director Ridnei Brenna, and the team of local managers. Staff from the lab and production facilities joined the office staff in attending the event.
Addressing the gathered colleagues, Dave shared his thoughts on growth potential of THOR Brazil: “When visiting the site last year, I asked Ridnei, “Where are new hires going to sit?” It became clear that we didn’t have enough space at the existing site, and so we raised an expansion plan to THOR Group’s Board. The Board agreed that, due to the growth we’ve already seen in Brazil and our plans for the future, additional space was crucial to our local and regional goals.
“We’ve grown an excellent team in a very short timeframe, but this is a great problem to have, and we look forward to continued growth and success at THOR Brazil.”
Ridnei sees the expansion of THOR Brazil’s footprint as an important milestone for the business. “Although it is sad to leave the production, warehouse and laboratory teams at our Tamboré site,” he said. “We’re excited about the potential that our new office space will bring us.
“Maintaining our manufacturing and lab operations in Tamboré, whilst proactively planning for the future expansion of our office staff, is crucial for our ambition to grow THOR Brazil and better serve our customers.
“Since beginning operations in Brazil, we have undertaken two structural changes, the first in May 2010, and the latter in June this year. We have also invested further in logistics, warehousing services, utilities, and a layout change at the factory site.
"These investments are justified by the successful track record of our operation and our strategic plans for the future, including the ESG themes, and living our company purpose of creating lasting solutions that enable the extraordinary.”
