Executive Board

Our Executive Management team, also known as the Executive Board, have a wealth of leadership experience, both from within THOR and across the world.

Led by CEO David Hewitt, now in his 40th year at THOR, our experienced seven-person-strong Executive Board are charged with setting and leading on the strategic direction and priorities for the global business.

David Hewitt, CEO

David joined the THOR UK business in 1985 as Finance Manager, before going on to hold several other senior positions with the business, including UK Managing Director. He has served on the THOR Group Executive Board for almost 30 years, and became Group CEO in 2020.

Philip McDonald, CFO

Philip is responsible for the Finance, Procurement, and Digital functions across THOR Group, delivering strong financial management and decision support, data transparency, effective business controls and robust governance structures.

Ruediger Baum

Ruediger joined THOR GmbH’s operational lab in 1985, and has risen up through the business over the years that followed. Ruediger was appointed to the Board as Chief Development Officer in 2021, coordinating and directing our global R&D activities and expansion opportunities.

Giuseppe De Lucia

Giuseppe began his THOR career in 1999, bringing a strong background in senior commercial leadership. In 2010 he became Managing Director for THOR Italy, was appointed to the Main Board in 2018, and was nominated to the Executive Board as Chief Operating Officer, EMEA, in 2020.

Dave Siroky

Dave joined THOR Specialities USA to lead the sales team in 2006, having previously spent a number of successful years at both entrepreneurial and Fortune 100 companies alike. In 2022, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, Americas, adding the strategic direction of THOR USA, Mexico, and Brazil to his responsibility.

Qinglin Zheng

Qinglin joined THOR China in 2016, with a PhD in Chemistry. He has over a decade of experience in management positions at Clariant in Germany, where he was educated, and China. As Chief Operating Officer, APAC, Qinglin is responsible for the strategic direction of THOR businesses in China, Malaysia, Australia, Japan and Korea.

Peter Hahn

Having joined the Board in 2007, overseeing industrial biocides, Peter became the Chief Sales Officer in 2019. His focus is on the continued development of THOR’s product and technology offering, as well as driving excellence in our technical service and regulatory support functions.
