THOR GmbH investing in the future

Since first establishing our site in Speyer, Germany back in 1972, our team at THOR GmbH have been constantly striving to the deliver the extraordinary for our customers. 

Over the years, this has meant many expansions and upgrades of our Speyer site, in order to keep us a world leader in the biocides and flame retardants we manufacture on site. Having already filled the geographic footprint of the site, it's important to plan for the future and optimise the assets and strategies we have in place, in order to futureproof our facility and the products we craft.

Recently, Giuseppe De Lucia, THOR Group's COO of EMEA, and a local team from THOR Germany were able to confirm the site's construction plans up to 2030, outlining the steps for investing in modernisation, and plan out proposed upgrades.

Our priority for our Speyer site over the next five years will be in the upgrade and modernisation of our workshops and container reconditioning.

These measures not only offer the potential for significant improvements to our manufacturing and storage processes, but are also a big step forward for future viability, making us more agile and efficient.

As with any large-scale project where space is limited, the planning and logistics proved something of a puzzle for the team. Giuseppe was enthusiastic about the planned investment work. It's not only about the efficiency of the site, but also emphasises the reciprocal trust and appreciation of THOR GmbH and the local Speyer community.
