Production Begins at New THOR GmbH Facility

For the past five years, colleagues at THOR GmbH in Speyer, Germany, have spent the past five years hard at work planning, building and installing a brand new production facility, known as 'Building 4', on site.

This new €18million investment will allow for an additional 40,000 tonnes of preservatives and flame retardants to be produced in the coming years, adding a significant expansion to the manufacturing output of THOR GmbH.

With work finally complete, earlier this month production in Building 4 officially began. THOR CEO, David Hewitt, along with Jürgen Klein, THOR GmbH Managing Director, and Arthur Honcza, THOR GmbH Plant Manager, were present to mark the commencement of operations and to push the ceremonial start button!

It was a special moment for all at THOR GmbH, and is a testament to THOR's ongoing commitment to investing not only in local production, but also in strengthening our ties to regional industry and commerce, and shoring up our supply chain security. The facility was also designed to allow for future expansion, supporting the long-term growth strategy of both the site and THOR Group.
