TECHNICAL SERVICE

Thor’s strategically located Technical Service Centres, staffed by highly qualified scientists, offer our customers unparalleled technical support, regulatory backup and registration assistance.

Our policy is to work with our customers to ensure optimum cost-effective biocide recommendations based on sound scientific evaluation.  Our comprehensive package of microbiological testing includes wet-state and dry-film challenge tests, sterility testing and on-site hygiene audits.  Our chemistry laboratories are fully equipped to test for the complete range of biocidal actives using various analytical techniques.

A network of specialised technical service and application laboratories across the globe are fully equipped to carry out flame retardant testing.  Thor works closely with regulatory bodies and industry associations to ensure we are fully up to date on new developments and legislation concerning fire safety.

THOR IVT

Thor is opposed to animal testing and is a corporate sponsor of FRAME (Fund for the Replacement of Animals in Medical Experiments).   We therefore became the first preservative producer to establish our own in vitro toxicological testing facility.  Thor IVT supports the safety assessment of personal care, household and other industrial products, without the use of animals.

Thor IVT provides the toxiological assessment of eye irritation, skin irritation, skin corrosion, phototoxicity and cytotoxicity of cosmetic ingredients and finished product formulations.
